Social Media & Community Executive / Manager, Global

Location: Remote/Hybrid

Role Summary

At AHAVERSE, this role is not about managing individual platforms. It is about building long-term fan ecosystems and cultural relevance for our IPs through social and community.

The Social Media & Community Executive / Manager will support the day-to-day management, content creation, publishing, and community engagement of AHAVERSE’s global social media accounts.

This role is ideal for someone who understands animation, ACG culture, fandom behavior, and international social media trends. We are looking for a strong content creator and community-minded operator who knows how to speak to fans in a way that feels authentic, engaging, and respectful of the IP.

The successful candidate should be comfortable creating social content directly, including writing captions, editing short videos, selecting suitable clips, adapting tone of voice, and identifying content formats that resonate with animation audiences. Simple graphic design ability, multilingual ability, or prior experience with entertainment IPs will be strong advantages.

This role reports to the Global Content Strategy Lead.

Key Responsibilities

1, Social Media Content Creation and Publishing

  • Create, edit, adapt, and publish engaging content for AHAVERSE’s global social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Facebook, Discord, and LinkedIn.

  • Develop platform-native content formats such as short-form videos, clips, memes, captions, community posts, countdowns, and campaign content.

  • Adapt official animation assets, visuals, trailers, stills, merchandise images, and campaign materials into social-first content that resonates with animation and fandom audiences.

  • Support content calendars for key IP milestones, launches, events, character moments, anniversaries, and community activations.

2, Community Engagement and Fan Understanding

  • Engage with international fans in a timely, thoughtful, and brand-appropriate manner.

  • Monitor fan conversations, comments, trends, memes, feedback, and community sentiment across platforms.

  • Identify opportunities for fan interaction, UGC amplification, community participation, and fandom-led engagement.

  • Help maintain a positive and active community environment while escalating sensitive issues when needed.

3, Owned Content and IP Updates

  • Support AHAVERSE’s owned content channels, including IP blogs, website updates, newsletters, and EDM content where relevant.

  • Assist with drafting, editing, formatting, and publishing IP-related updates, announcements, event recaps, campaign news, and community features.

  • Help repurpose social content, campaign materials, trailers, merchandise updates, and IP news into suitable blog or newsletter formats.

4, IP, Brand, and Content Accuracy

  • Develop a strong understanding of AHAVERSE IPs, character personalities, story worlds, tone of voice, and fandom expectations.

  • Ensure social content, community responses, blog updates, and EDM content remain aligned with official IP positioning and brand guidelines.

  • Exercise good judgment when handling spoilers, fan theories, shipping discussions, sensitive topics, and unofficial fan interpretations.

5, Reporting and Coordination

  • Support regular tracking of social media and owned content performance, including audience growth, engagement, top-performing content, community feedback, and key learnings.

  • Share useful insights on platform trends, audience sentiment, content performance, and community opportunities.

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to collect assets, confirm information, manage approvals, and maintain organized content records.

Job Requirements

  • 3–8 years of experience in social media, community management, content creation, digital marketing, entertainment marketing, animation, gaming, or related fields.

  • Ability to edit videos using tools such as Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar software.

  • Strong written English, with the ability to adapt tone of voice across platforms, audiences, and IP contexts.

  • Passion for animation, ACG, fandom culture, pop culture, games, comics, or character-driven entertainment.

  • Strong understanding of international social media platforms and how audiences behave differently across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Facebook, Discord, and other platforms.

  • Ability to create social content directly, especially short-form video edits, captions, community posts, memes, and simple visual adaptations.

  • Good sense of what animation audiences enjoy, share, discuss, and respond to.

  • Strong sensitivity toward IP content, character integrity, official canon, fan culture, and brand safety.

  • Able to work independently, move quickly, and learn fast while still respecting approval processes and IP guidelines.

  • Comfortable working across cultures and collaborating with teams based in China and international markets.

  • Professional, responsible, organized, and able to manage multiple content needs at the same time.

Strong Advantages (Bonus)

  • Direct experience managing social media accounts for animation, games, comics, entertainment IPs, streaming content, merchandise, or established fan communities.

  • Basic graphic design ability using tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, Figma, or similar platforms.

  • Ability to speak, read, or write Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, or other major international languages.

  • Experience managing Discord, fan communities, creator communities, or UGC campaigns.

  • Understanding of anime, donghua, manga, webcomics, games, collectibles, and international fandom behavior.

  • Experience working with international audiences or adapting content for different cultural contexts.

Candidate Profile

We are open to candidates at different experience levels.

For a more junior to mid-level candidate, we are looking for someone who is highly social media savvy, creative, fast-learning, passionate about animation, and able to create engaging content with strong judgment and good taste.

For a more experienced candidate, we are looking for someone who can take stronger ownership of international social media planning, community engagement, content direction, reporting, and cross-functional coordination.

In both cases, the most important qualities are passion for animation, strong social media instincts, adaptable communication skills, IP sensitivity, creativity, professionalism, and the right learning mindset.

  • Fans feel that the official accounts understand the IP, the characters, and the community.

  • Social content becomes more platform-native, timely, and shareable.

  • The team becomes less dependent on separate editors or designers for every piece of simple social content.

  • Community insights are surfaced regularly and used to improve content, campaigns, and IP audience development.

  • The role helps build long-term international fan familiarity, engagement, and loyalty toward AHAVERSE IPs.
